Occupational Therapy

Moving to a new home?  Got a new job?  Adapting to a new environment may be a challenge for some individuals.

Because of the transition difficulties that could arise, physicians recommend occupational therapy.  Occupational Therapy provides support and treatment for individuals who are recovering from an injury or a recent surgery.

Procedures usually included in the occupational therapy program are assessment of home environment, assistance with daily living activities, body mechanics, education in the use of mobility enhancing and adaptive equipment, education in the use of prosthetics, education on safety and hazard awareness.

Occupational Therapy also provides clients with training and treatment involving energy conservation and management, exercise programs, pain management, prevention of further injury, relearning activities of daily living, and relearning work/home-living skills.
